Museum of Ethnography
Since 1872

In 2022, the institution opened its doors in a modern building specially designed for the Ethnography Museum for the first time in its history, which meets both the professional requirements of the 21st century and the needs of visitors. The simple, curved-shaped building was created by the Hungarian architecture firm NAPUR Architect, selected in an international design competition, with the involvement of nearly 250 designers. 60% of the building is located below ground level, and there is a green area on top, which serves as a community space for visitors. The museum building also serves as a kind of gate to enter the city park.
